Downtown Redevelopment
Whitewright, TX
Overview
Antero Group was engaged to establish a redevelopment plan for the City of Whitewright, Texas, a rapidly growing community in the Dallas-Fort Worth Metroplex area.
With Antero Group’s help, Whitewright was awarded a United States EPA Area-Wide Brownfields Planning Grant to establish this plan and address several blighted properties in the downtown.
The planning process incorporated a detailed analysis of existing conditions that inhibit the downtown’s success, with a focus on identifying strategies to address several factors, including: infrastructure, site clean-up planning, reuse strategies, transportation impacts, and market conditions. This included a significant community outreach effort to better understand the hopes and ideas of residents and businesses.
The planning efforts culminated with the creation of the Whitewright Downtown Development Plan.
